This effect is achieved by applying various layers of colored glass on the surface of the piece while hot,.. later when cool the surface layers can be carved away to expose the underlying colors of glass.

MARBLES
Marbles are one of my favorites to make. I like to use Gold
Glitter and Silver Nitrate in my marbles to create a unique
"Organic" look. The Marbles I make range from 1 inch up
to 3 inches in Diameter.
